Saturday  ~  November 18, 2017

This journal is the ultimate in play.  Kelly tells us that she’s always looking for new ways to revitalize her favorite techniques.  Think lush layers of paint, paper, tape, stencils, pen work, and more all bound into little bundles of creativity.  You’ll start the Workshop by creating rich layers of painted pages.  You’ve only just begun as you step back, revisit your pages, and start to think about how you can assemble them into books.  Before the tearing and the binding begin, you’ll go through and collage your pages (Kelly will show you how to collage them so that when you fold and assemble them you will have pages ready for you to work on.)  After you’ve finished assembling your journal, you’ll step back again and learn techniques for on the go or art journaling using minimal supplies.

"Transformation" . . .

It was another fun and exciting day in the CraftFusion Workshop last Saturday, April 26th, as Shawn Petite shared her magic and secrets to her unique style of creating extraordinary mixed media art pieces with several lucky students. At the end of the Workshop, everyone went home with their own one-of-a-kind piece of art . . . and big smiles on their faces!  Shawn led everyone in the Workshop in all types of step-by-step techniques that they'll be able to use in many of their future projects . . . creating aging, shading, and texture in mixed media, just to name a few . . . as well as how to collage with ephemera, book pages, and papers in your art pieces. Acrylic paints, charcoal, pencil, oil pastels, and even image transfers were added as finishing touches to each piece.

Check out this happy group of artists . . .

Supplies to Bring:  Basic Craft Kit (BCK), including craft sheet; Distress Vintage Photo ink pad or your favorite brown stamp pad; and a 1" acrylic brush, flat.  Optional Supplies:  Acrylic brushes, palette knife, and any additional or special ephemera you'd like to add to make your collage truly unique.  All other materials and supplies, as well as lunch, will be provided.

Cindy is a published artist who has taught painting, drawing, and varied mixed media techniques throughout her career at seminars, educational facilities, galleries, local shops, and retreats.  She's been a featured artist and instructor at Art Unraveled in Phoenix, AZ (2007-2013), Art & Soul in Portland, Oregon (2013), and Artiscape in Dublin, Ohio (2012-2013), just to name a few. Help Us Welcome Cindy Kovack!

It's happened again!  The CraftFusion family has grown as another new artist and talented instructor joins the team . . . Cindy Kovack!  Cindy's had the passion to create since childhood.  As a young girl, even though she lacked the funds for her creative projects, that didn't stop her . . . she'd hike to the local dump to salvage reclaimed parts and pieces for her art!  As a self-taught artist who originally learned to paint with house paints and model airplane brushes, she's since fused her love of paint, collage, and upcycling into a way of life.  With the passing of her late husband, she found she was able to channel her grief into her art, and to this day, continues to use her creativity as a form of meditation.  Cindy is also a published artist who has taught painting, drawing, and varied mixed media techniques throughout her career at seminars, educational facilities, galleries, local shops, and retreats.  She's been a featured artist and instructor at Art Unraveled in Phoenix, AZ (2007-2013), Art & Soul in Portland, OR (2013), Artiscape in Dublin, OH (2012-2013), just to name a few.  Several of her art projects have also been published in numerous issues of the Somerset Studio Magazines.  If you love mixed media art as much as Cindy, make your reservations now to spend an exciting day with her in her first Workshop here at CraftFusion as we extend her a warm welcome to our Family!

Where's CraftFusion?

Each week we receive so many phone calls from people wanting to know just where we're located.  With so few papercrafting stores open anymore . . . other than those big box stores we all know of . . . it can be hard to find the one store who carries just what you're looking for.  So, like "Where's Waldo?", we thought we'd make it a little easier and less stressful to find us and help with some directions.  But if you need more, please continue to call . . . even if only to say "hello"!  We love hearing from you!
