“BYOP Mini Album” 
A New Mini Album Workshop

with Sherry Bamsey

10:00am – 4:00pm

Cost:  $40.00  (includes lunch)

What’s “BYOP”, you ask?  Bring Your Own Paper!  Presented for the first time at CraftFusion, join Sherry for this new and unique concept in mini album construction!  Sherry will supply all the chipboard and cardstock necessary to complete the basic album, and you’ll bring you favorite patterned paper to finish.  The album you’ll create in the Workshop will be 7-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ with 6 pages, but Sherry will show you the basics of how to make any sized mini album with as many pages as you’d like using the same construction method.  In addition to learning a variation of the standard hinge system, each mini album with also have pockets, flaps, and a file folder pocket, making it the perfect album to keep all your treasured memories.  To decorate your finished album, you’ll need at least 12-13 sheets of your favorite 12″ x 12″ paper, and paper pads such as those from Graphic 45, DCWW, Paper Studio, or any other favorite work best.  As with all of Sherry’s exciting Workshops, you’ll want to make your reservations early because SEATING IS LIMITED TO 8 students only, so call now to save your space before it sells out!

Supplies to Bring:  Basic Craft Kit (BCK), including craft sheet; paper trimmer; scissors; ScorTape (1/4” & 3/8″); your favorite wet adhesive; tape runner (if desired); Crop-A-Dile; corner rounder; SCOREBOARD; and bone folder.  A scoreboard is a must-have for this Workshop!  This album also uses a lot of ScorTape, so be sure to have plenty on hand.  All other materials and supplies will be provided.

Join Shelley for another fun and creative day as you construct a unique 7”x5” album created from envelopes using the hidden hinge system made famous by Kathy Orta.  Using the newest paper collection from Authentique, “Classique Elegant”, your completed album will use 24 - 12”x12” sheets of papers, allowing more than enough space for you to keep and display all your precious photos and memories.  Within its elegantly decorated chipboard covers, each album will be overflowing with extra large envelopes, photo mats for 40-50 photos, lots of inserts, cards, multiple pockets, journaling cards, photo mats, and embellishments, all kept snug and secure in the specially designed hidden hinge binding system.  Extra embellishments will also be available to allow you to make your finished album truly unique and distinctive.  Each Workshop kit will include all supplies to create a complete album, along with written instructions for cutting and scoring, as well as color photos.  Seating is limited to only 10 for this fascinating Workshop, so call right away to save your spot and don’t miss a minute of the fun!

"Stitched Journals" with Dana Edwards  ~   August 9th & 10th
We had a full house on both days with Dana as everyone learned the secrets and techniques to bookbinding with multiple needles.  While some of the stitching was a bit tricky, the end results were marvelous and everyone absolutely enjoyed their finished journals.  Be sure to check your schedule and join us for Dana's next Workshop, "Favorites", scheduled for Saturday, September 21st & Friday, September 27th . . . pick you date and pick your paper, too!

 

"Book of Dreams" with Gladys Moreno  ~   August 17th
What can you do with 30 manila file folders, 30 12"x12" papers, chipboard, and rolls and rolls of Scor-Tape?  Last Saturday, Gladys shared the how-to's of all that and more with another packed house in this intensive, all day Workshop. We had 12 people following along as Gladys shared construction tips and tricks to her amazing hidden hinge system, as well as techniques in working with inks, multi-mediums, and proper paper cutting and placement.  If you weren't able to join in, don't despair . . . we're taking names for a "Command Performance" of this popular Workshop to be scheduled for a future date, so contact us and we'll add you to the list.

"Place in Time" with Sherry Bamsey

Today was the first "Place in Time" Workshop with Sherry Bamsey and in one word . . . FANTASTIC!  Everyone in this sold-out Workshop was in a truly creative frame-of-mind as Sherry led the charge guiding all in the assembly of her wonderfully constructed mini album with it's "hidden hinge" technique. Complete with full-color printed details and instructions, this was definitely the Workshop and project designed with the album affectiondo in mind.

  

At the end of the Workshop, compliments were flying . . . "great album!", "I love it!", and "when's your next Workshop, Sherry?", just to mention a few.  With praise like that, who wouldn't feel great after a long day of crafting?
