Thinking Big in a Small Way . . .

Where does the time go?  It seems to just swoosh by so fast that we all get busy with things and other things get forgotten.  Unfortunately, that seems to be what happened with the posting for last month's posting for the results of the October "ATC Workshop & Swap" (which is another way of saying we goofed!)   So, with huge apologies to all of the talented artists in the Workshop, and without any futher ado, here we go . . .

October is oft times referred to as the "Halloween Month", and with appropriately titled themes of "Black Cats & Pumpkins", "Edgar Allen Poe", "Vampires on the Loose!" or "Halloween/Day of the Dead" to pick from, eveyone choose their favorite then went to town creating!  We're a bit biased, to say the least, but just take a look at the results for yourself . . . they're FANTASTIC!  Make plans to stop in for a visit, too, to check out our expanding ATC Gallery to see for yourself just how amazing these "mini" works of art really are . . . because, as we all know, everything always looks much better in person!

TOP ROW: "Vampires on the Loose!", Kristen Johnston; "Loteria de La Muerte", Lylia Hagerty;
"Halloween Spiders", Jeanette Lee; "Halloween Graveyard", Sheila Rose
MIDDLE ROW: "Celebrate! (Day of the Dead)", Nicole Durst; "Black Cats & Edgar Allen Poe",
Mimi Lawrence; "Rest in Peace", Charmaine Conway; "Peek-a-BOO!", Terri Durst
BOTTOM ROW: "Halloween Delite!'', Deb Schinzel"Black Cats & Pumpkins", Jean Hamrick;
"Trick-or-Treaters", Charlotte Fern
Stop by & check out these & all of the fantastic works of art
in our ever expanding "ATC Gallery"!
Be sure to watch for our upcoming post with the results of November's Workshop (we promise not to be late!)  And for those who missed October's or November's Workshops, make your plans now to join in the fun the following month . . . Thursday, December 11th . . . when the monthly themes will be "Windows, Doors & Arches", "Oh, Christmas Tree...Oh, Christmas Tree", "Abstracts", and "Favorite Technique(s)".  Pick just 1, or mix-and-match from 2, 3, or all 4 categories, but start “thinking big in a small way" and we'll see you then at this fun NO COST workshop.  From experienced to novice . . . you’ll definitely want to see what it’s all about for yourself!   It couldn't be any more simple . . . create 12 ATCs using the monthly themes (keeping 1 for yourself & bringing 11 to the Swap) . . . all the same or each one different . . . then come and share with others in a true workshop atmosphere. Or just stop in and see what's going on with other artists, ask questions, share information, have fun, and become inspired!
Remember to save the date . . .
the second Thursday of each month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm . . .
we look forward to seeing you there!

Be sure to watch for the results in an upcoming post for the results of our next "Challenge" (November) where we'll all be creating "Altered Books".  The outcome is sure to be amazing, as always, so stay tuned!  Each Challenge is voluntary and the "rules" are really very easy ~  everyone who takes parts creates 1 Challenge Item for "Show & Tell" using everyday mixed media materials . . . embellishments, paints, papers, stencils, whatever strikes your fancy! . . . then shares their finished art piece with the group.  What could be easier?

Watch for New Themes for 2015 to be announced next month!

If you'd like to join us at this fun & exciting NO COST workshop, call (480) 821-3758 for more details or information and let your imaginations & creative juices flow!  (If you can't make the Workshop, but still want to take part in the Swaps, call and let us know.  We'll be your "Swapper"!  We'd still love to have you participate!)
