“Altered Junky Doll”

Altered, altered, altered!  Join Jessica in her newest Workshop as she shows you how to create your own uniquely junky doll!  With Jessica's guidance, you'll create a one-of-a-kind keepsake to keep for yourself or the perfect gift to give to a special loved one!  You'll learn how to build a dress form out of wire from the hardware store, plus alter three vintage items ~ a tea cup and saucer, a metal tart tin, and a porcelain half pincushion doll.  Everything you'll need to adorn your doll's "dress" will be available, plus you'll learn how to junk them up.  Each person will leave the Workshop with a unique junky doll, personalized to their own tastes and likes!  If you have any special embellishments you'd like to add, please bring them with you.  Make your reservations early because SEATING IS LIMITED TO 8 students only, and this Workshop is already on its way to filling up!  Call now to save your space so you don't miss out!

ICE Resin® returns!  The fantastic jeweler’s grade resin created by internationally known designer and mixed media artist, Susan Lenart Kazmer, it’s fabulous . . . not to mention fun! . . . to work and create with.  With its self-leveling, self-healing, and naturally doming characteristics, it dries to a crystal clear, glass-like finish in just 8-12 hours with no heat necessary!  Join Polly Hendrickson, a Certified ICE Resin® Instructor and Design Team Member, as she returns in one of your favorite and most popular Workshops and create 3 gorgeous bezel necklaces, each filled with a mini collage that you’ll design with charms, words, glitter, ephemera . . . anything you’d like.  The possibilities are limited only by your imagination! You’ll learn how to correctly mix ICE Resin®, create collages, and the proper method of filling each bezel with resin to achieve beautiful finished jewelry pieces.  In addition, Polly will also share how to include silk ribbons, lace, and other materials, as well as adding wire wrapping and creating handmade wire clasps. We’ve all seen those darling bottles with a message inside made into a necklace and wondered “how’d they do that?”  Join Polly in this exciting & informative Workshop as she shares her secrets in helping you create your own “message in a bottle” jewelry set!  They’re so fun to make, and if you allow your imagination to soar, the sky’s the limit on what you can do with them!  You’ll begin with a small bottle, then fill it with the message of your choice that’s been aged with a special technique to make it look rustic and old . . . maybe a dream or goal, a prayer, or some secret hope that you don’t want to share with anyone else.  You’ll add accents such as charms, beads, glitter, or vintage lace or ribbon, to make your pieces truly unique and one-of-a-kind.  You’ll also learn a wire wrapping technique that’ll you want to use in your future projects, as well as everyone’s favorite ~ Metal Stamping!  To compliment your necklace, you’ll have the opportunity to create a pair of matching earrings, also using Metal Stamping.  Polly’s previous Metal Stamping Workshop filled quickly, so call early to make your reservations.  With SEATING LIMITED TO ONLY 10, you won’t want to wait too long to save your seat!

Tools & Supplies to Bring:  Beads or crystals in your choice of colors; ribbon, lace, or string; charms (if desired) to incorporate in your design; glitter (optional); favorite paper for your message; disposable paint brush; jewelry pliers (round nose & chain nose); small ball peen hammer; metal stamping set (if you have one).  If you don’t have some of the tools, a limited number will be available for your use.  All other supplies and materials will be provided.
