“Altered Box Necklace” Workshop

Join Polly as you recycle a small, used Altoids tin to create a fantastic necklace to keep for yourself or as a unique gift for someone else!  You'll learn how to paint and embellish your box, both inside and out, using collage techniques from items like ephemera, papers, old photos, letters, ribbon, lace, glitter, or anything else that you'd like to add!  You finished box could also make the perfect place to keep secret treasures in!  You'll be using ICE Resin for your collage, as well as learning wire wrapping techniques for adding your cord for the necklace, and beads and ribbons for embellishment.  Designed for both the beginner and more advanced student, and is sure to be fun for everyone!  SEATING IS LIMITED, so call early to save your space because it's sure to sell out! 

Supplies to Bring:  Craft sheet or mat; scissors; chain nose and round nose pliers (if you have them); ephemera (special papers, old letters, etc.), photographs, or memorabilia; any special embellishments such as beads, charms, or other items you'd like to add to your necklace; any favorite ribbons, chain, or fabric you'd like to add.  All other supplies and materials will be provided.

Have you ever wondered what to do with that special old photo or cherished piece of memorabilia to preserve it as a keepsake?  Join Polly Hendrickson, a Certified ICE Resin Instructor and former Design Team Member, as she shows you how to take your meaningful piece and place it on a vintage metal tag to create a beautiful necklace!  With Polly's guidance, you'll be free to create whatever you like, and can make it for yourself or to give as a gift!  You'll learn techniques for stamping metal, and how you can stamp anything from your favorite word(s), a favorite phrase, names, or dates.  You'll also be using ICE Resin, which will preserve your photographs, as well as exploring the many uses of this wonderful product.  Polly will have a variety of beads and charms, as well as ribbons and chains, to use as the finishing touches for your necklace, but if you have any special items you'd like to add to make your necklace truly unique, please bring them with you!  The sky's the limit as to what you'll be able to create!  Designed to allow you to use your imagination completely, you definitely won't want to miss the fun in this exciting Workshop.  SEATING IS LIMITED, so call early to save your space because it's already on it's way to selling out!
