Messy Hands & Big Smiles = Fun Times!

We're still savoring the excitement of having our VSG (Very Special Guest), Dina Wakley, in the CraftFusion Workshop last Saturday.  Everyone was all smiles and had loads of fun while creating beautiful art in their journals.

A Special Guest is in the Workshop Today!

It's been a long coming, but we're definitely counting our lucky stars today! Dina Wakley has joined us in our Workshop and we couldn't be more happy! With two fantastic 3-hour Art Journaling Workshops scheduled, everyone who'd reserved a space arrived early, ready and anxious to get to work and get their hands messy.

"Art Journal Play Series: Composition Basics"
Starting at an early 9:00am, the morning session kicked off the day with Dina as she shared the basics of art journaling with everyone in the group using her exciting techniques and tips.  At the end of the Workshop everyone had lots of pages in their journals they'll be able to use in all of their future papercrafting and mixed media adventures.  Everyone had a great time, made great journal pages, and left full of inspiration.

"Art Journal Play Series: Random by Design"
After a short break, Dina continued with her second session with another group of budding art journalists.  Eager to go to work, Dina was able to share her favorite methods for achieving expressive layers, as well as how to combine art techniques in creating interesting art.  Armed with paints, stencils, and stamps galore, everyone went to work, all the while having fun and sharing laughs with each other.

Dina's “Art Journal Play” Workshops are all about exploring and playing with art journaling techniques.  The goal is to learn techniques, experiment, play, and make finished journal pages.  You’ll be working in journals, but the techniques apply to all mixed-media projects (canvases, book-making, etc.).

               

Do you struggle with composition?  You’re not alone!  This Workshop covers the basics of composition.  Dina will also show you some of her favorite composition devices that always work, like using a combining device, exploring proximity, and creating continuance.  You’ll combine stamps and stencils with acrylic paints for fun art techniques that you can use in all of your papercrafting and mixed-media adventures.  SEATING IS VERY LIMITED, so call early to make your reservations for this very special and exciting Workshop!                 

Supplies to Bring:  Art Journal (Dina recommends Ranger's Dylusions Creative Journal); craft sheet or mat; scissors; heat gun; paint brushes; water container to clean your brushes; palette knife; paper plate or palette paper to use as a palette (or you can just use your craft sheet); baby wipes; paper towels; and small notebook and pen or pencil for taking ntoes.  All other materials and supplies will be provided.
