Join Cindy & "Think Inside the Box"!

Saturday ~ February 15, 2014                                               10:30am-3:00pm
"Thinking Inside the Box"                                       Cost: $50.00 (includes lunch)

Life can be so confusing!  As youngsters, we were all told to "color within the lines".  Then, as we grew older, we were told "think outside the lines".  Now you have the opportunity to revert to those younger days as you join Cindy Kovack for another exciting Workshop in creating your own intriguing collage all contained within a limited space!  Each student will be provided an 8"x8" wood box, then create a free-form collage within its interior.  Cindy will provide pieces of ephemera to decorate your art piece, but you may want to bring along small bits and pieces that will bring your piece to life or anything that's special to you and might inspire you, helping to make your piece unique.  Once you've created your collage, you'll learn to combine acrylic paints with a medium to achieve the perfect stain to finish it off which will work on wood, fabric, or paper.  You'll also learn the how-to's of forming a collage concept, how to select complementary colors, staining techniques, and accenting with minimalistic ephemera.  Seating will be limited, so call early to save your space!

Supplies to Bring:  Basic Craft Kit (BCK), including craft sheet; Distress Vintage Photo ink pad or your favorite brown stamp pad; and a 1" acrylic brush, flat.  Optional Supplies:  Acrylic brushes, palette knife, and any additional or special ephemera you'd like to add to make your collage truly unique.  All other materials and supplies, as well as lunch, will be provided.

Cindy is a published artist who has taught painting, drawing, and varied mixed media techniques throughout her career at seminars, educational facilities, galleries, local shops, and retreats.  She's been a featured artist and instructor at Art Unraveled in Phoenix, AZ (2007-2013), Art & Soul in Portland, Oregon (2013), and Artiscape in Dublin, Ohio (2012-2013), just to name a few. Several of her art projects have also been published in numerous issues of the Somerset Studio Magazines.  If you love mixed media art as much as Cindy, make your reservations now to spend an exciting and creative day with her in this fantastic Workshop!

Help Us Welcome Cindy Kovack!

It's happened again!  The CraftFusion family has grown as another new artist and talented instructor joins the team . . . Cindy Kovack!  Cindy's had the passion to create since childhood.  As a young girl, even though she lacked the funds for her creative projects, that didn't stop her . . . she'd hike to the local dump to salvage reclaimed parts and pieces for her art!  As a self-taught artist who originally learned to paint with house paints and model airplane brushes, she's since fused her love of paint, collage, and upcycling into a way of life.  With the passing of her late husband, she found she was able to channel her grief into her art, and to this day, continues to use her creativity as a form of meditation.  Cindy is also a published artist who has taught painting, drawing, and varied mixed media techniques throughout her career at seminars, educational facilities, galleries, local shops, and retreats.  She's been a featured artist and instructor at Art Unraveled in Phoenix, AZ (2007-2013), Art & Soul in Portland, OR (2013), Artiscape in Dublin, OH (2012-2013), just to name a few.  Several of her art projects have also been published in numerous issues of the Somerset Studio Magazines.  If you love mixed media art as much as Cindy, make your reservations now to spend an exciting day with her in her first Workshop here at CraftFusion as we extend her a warm welcome to our Family!
