When is comes to having the necessary tools and supplies
readily at hand to create all of your fantastic projects, do you always have
what you need? For our Workshops here at
CraftFusion, we’re often asked what’s in a “Basic” Craft Kit. While everyone may not agree, we’ve come up
with what we think are absolute necessities in any craft bag or kit to get you
started.
Craft mat; scissors; paper trimmer
& replacement blades (must haves!); your favorite wet adhesives; ink
blending tools; Distress Inks (Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Black Soot are great
go-to-colors); ruler; pencil; and paper or a small notebook.
But if you’re like anyone else who’s serious in their
crafting, these items only scratch the surface of the items you'll need. The next time you’re in any Workshop, just
take a look at the bag of the person sitting next to you to see what’s in their
bag. Most likely, it’s bulging at the
seams or overflowing with all sorts of goodies . . . or as in the case of
myself, it’s almost become necessary to add wheels to the bottom of the bag for
easy transport! But with the idea of
still trying to keep things “simple” and relatively affordable, we’ve come up
with a short supply list of what we think might be included in an “Advanced”
Craft Kit.
Everything from the Basic Craft Kit
above, but also includes an X-Acto knife; cutting mat; brayer; bone folder;
water spritzer or mini mister; moist towelettes or baby wipes; wooden
toothpicks; sanding block or emery boards; Crop-O-Dile; stapler & staples; tape runner,
double-sided tape, or glue sticks; and pop-up dots.
Of course, these are just helpful guidelines or suggestions. So, the next time you sit down to create, take
a minute to ask yourself . . . “what’s in my craft kit?”
Is your Craft Kit the "organized-with-everything-in-its-place" type or . . . |
maybe the "filled-to-the-max" type or . . . |
possibly the "it-takes-two" type? |
Whatever category your bag might fall into, have fun crafting!
