Show & Tell . . .

If you're a frequent visitor of CraftFusion, you know we always encourage our guests to bring in and show off their creations.  Once again, we've been lucky enough that one of our favorite visitors took us up on our word and did just that.

Some of you may be familiar with Jessica Tucker as "the gal at the register" this past summer.  Now that it's fall and Jessica has returned to school, it doesn't seem to have hampered her creative mojo at all.  In fact, if you stop in for a visit, you'll see many of Jessica's projects displayed throughout the store because she's one of our talented Design Team members.  But last week, Jessica stopped in for a visit to show off her newest creation, and she definitely blew us out of the water.  So much so, we couldn't wait to take photos to share with everyone. See if you don't agree.

"Spooks and Spells" ~ Jessica Tucker
Copyright 2013

Beginning with a "found treasure" from the Goodwill, Jessica transformed an old faux wood printer tray into a true work of art.  After having fallen in love with Graphic 45's "Steampunk Spells" paper collection, she wanted to capture the feeling of a vintage druggist and his wares, steampunk style.  To compliment the steampunk theme, she also incorporated Graphic 45's "Olde Curiosity Shoppe" and "Steampunk Deputant" paper collections, as her background, but then mixed in other found objects which she used in ways never intended.  How about the "frame" for Mr. Seymour Bones?  This was formerly a finger pull for a closet door! And the "fence" that those flying pigs are jumping through? Punchinella, with an application of rusting solution!  Even her spiders dangling webs were formed from old bed springs!*

And there you have it . . . Jessica's "Spooks and Spells" tray.  Jessica created this fantastic work of art to display over her fireplace for Halloween, but maybe with a little arm twisting we can convince her to "loan" it to us after the holiday to hang on our wall.  Be sure to leave a comment below to let us know what you think of Jessica's project!

Thank you for sharing, Jessica!

If you'd like to have us share one of your projects, please bring it in to show off. We love seeing and hearing about everything you create!

*Many of the found objects used in Jessica's project can be found on our Vintage Tables right inside the front door of the store!  Come & see what we have . . . you'll definitely look at things differently!
