Time for Sweets!

It was another great evening of fun and creativity at this month's monthly "ATC Workshop & Swap" last Thursday evening where the themes were "Sweets, Cakes & Candy!" or "It's About Time!".  Most of the group seemed to have a sweet tooth when creating their cards, while a few definitely had time on their minds.  From building caulk to glitter, everyone came ready to show off and share their talents, and the results were absolutely amazing . . . as usual!  If you haven't already, a visit to our ATC Gallery is a must-do because the photo just does not do these fantastic mini works of art justice!

For those who missed this month's workshop, make your plans now to join in the fun next month.  Mark your calendars & save the date . . . Thursday, September 12th . . . when the monthly themes will be "Vintage School Days" or "Fairy Tales & Nursery Rhythms".  Start “thinking big in a small way" and we'll see you then at this fun NO COST workshop.  From experienced to novice . . . you’ll definitely want to see what it’s all about for yourself!   Just create 15 ATCs using the monthly themes (keeping 1 for yourself & bringing 14 to the Swap) . . . all the same or each one different . . . then come and share with others in a true workshop atmosphere. Or just come and see what's going on with other artists, ask questions, share information, have fun, and become inspired!

The group is growing, but there's always room for more!

As an added bonus, we were given two new "Challenges" ~ one for our September Swap and one for our October Swap.  For September, everyone was provided a sand dollar that came from the shores of the Gulf of Mexico (courtesy of Lylia Hagerty) and asked to create an "Altered Sand Dollar"!  The goal is to show each artist's personality through the type(s) of embellishments and decorations used.  For October, each participant was asked to create "Altered Mini Matchboxes" in whatever design they want. Each Challenge is voluntary and the "rules" are easy ~ simply create one Challenge item for "Show & Tell" to show off your altering talents and creativity using everyday mixed media materials . . . paints, papers, glitter . . . whatever strikes your fancy!  Be sure to watch for the final results of these fun Challenges in the upcoming months!
